101 Samples (well, 50) for Visual Studio 2005

The 101 Samples (and the related book) have been some of our most popular downloads in the past. Now, we've got 101 samples for Visual Studio 2005 (in both C# and Visual Basic). Well, the first 50. More on the way.

Hi Denny,

Not in there, but we have just that example in the 20 Gridview samples (http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/beta2/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnaspp/html/GridViewEx.asp). Take a look at this one: http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/beta2/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnaspp/html/GridViewEx10.asp (about half way down)

Typical Microsoft. It's not finished but release it anyway. This is reminiscent of "Under Construction" pages of the 90's and an example of something that even Microsoft has preached against since the 1995: unfilfilled promises in web page links.

So I open the link that says 101 samples only to find out that I have to wait until the 101 samples are finished, and hopefully someday they will be, and then remember to come back and get them at that time.

OK Dale, feedback accepted. I'll recommend we hold off helping anyone next time until we have everything for everyone.
