Once, not too long ago, and not too far away, there was a gardener. His garden wasn't very large, or full of fabulous plants, but he worked at his garden anyway. He planted both vegetables to feed others, and flowers, to make things attractive. He was happy in his garden, but others sought to change things. "Plant more roses", "Your rows aren't straight, like mine", "You should compost more often" they would say to him. Behind his back, a small group conspired. They decided to act during the annual garden competition -- they set up "community rules" for him to change his garden. So, he planted the roses, and changed his rows. He looked at the result with sadness, it wasn't his garden anymore.
He left the garden to the community, but they ignored the garden after the competition. Weeds arose and fruits went unharvested. The gardener watched this, and learned: gardens need love and constant work, don't ignore your garden.
